Do you have a question about our eCAS® Call Accounting software? It is quite likely someone else has asked the same question, and we have published the answer in the FAQ section of our Technical Support Website. Our Technical Support Website is available 24/7 for customers with an active Maintenance Agreement. Within this site you can access product documentation, FAQs, training videos and product updates such as V&H default rate tables.
Here's a quick sampling of our eCAS FAQs:
How much disk space do I need in the system server?
That depends on the number of call records in the "current" database and how many archives you keep in storage. System tables and reports saved on the Server require additional space. It is estimated that you need 500 MB per 1 million call records in storage (in other words, if you keep 1 million call records in the current period and two archives with roughly the same amount in each, you need 3 x 500 MB or about 1.5 GB of disk space).
What is the database capacity for eCAS?
The database capacity depends on the Microsoft® SQL Server™ version installed:
- SQL Server 2005 Express has a limit of 3.8 GB. This is the database manager installed with eCAS by default; setup installs it if SQL Server 2000 or 2005 is not already present in the eCAS® PC.
- SQL Server 2000 or 2005 Standard Edition has no limits other than the capacity of the disk drive where the eCAS Data folder is located. The eCAS About page will provide database capacity and actual usage information. If you have SQL Server 2005 Express and are approaching the 3.8 GB limit, you can upgrade to the Standard or Enterprise edition without affecting the application.
Why can't I open a PDF document with my browser?
To view Portable Document Format (PDF) files, Adobe's Acrobat® or Acrobat Reader must be installed on your PC. If you are connected to the Internet, you may download Acrobat Reader freely from www.adobe.com. The eCAS installation CD includes a Windows-compatible version which you may install and/or distribute freely any time.
